    KimLift® Synthetic Round Slings

    BACKGROUND

    Future Synthetics Pte Ltd designed and manufactured several KimLift® round slings for a SURF project for ONGC’s Krishna Godavari 98/2 Project. The offshore contractor supplied an integrated subsea package for the project including supplying 26 deepwater trees, installing subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) at a water depth of up to 4,265 feet (1,300 meters). The contractor stated that early first gas involved tying back a single well to the existing Vashishta facility. The first well – at a 4,265-feet (1,300-meter) water depth –is the deepest that ONGC has opened at the time of writing. All slings were made with Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance.

    SCOPE OF SUPPLY

    2x KimLift® synthetic round slings KLX-155; MBL 775MT and nominal effective working length 15.0 meters.

    Designed and manufactured by Future Synthetics Pte Ltd (a subsidiary of KTL Offshore Pte Ltd) and tested at KTL Offshore (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to DNVGL-ST-N001. Witnessed and certified by ABS Consulting.

  • Subsea iEPCI – Merakes Project (Indonesia)

    KimLift® Synthetic Round Sling

    BACKGROUND

    Future Synthetics Pte Ltd designed and manufactured a high WLL KimLift® round sling for a subsea project for the Merakes gas project, located offshore Indonesia.

    The field is situated in the East Sepinggan production sharing contract (PSC) offshore East Kalimantan in the Makassar Strait at a water depth of around 1,500m. The iEPCI (integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contract includes five deepwater wells and a 50km tie back to the existing Jangkrik floating production unit (FPU).

    Under the terms of the contract, the contractor will provide engineering, procurement, installation and pre-commissioning of subsea equipment. The KimLift® round sling was
    selected for this project due to its floatation, high strength-to-weight and Engineered Length Control properties.
     

    SCOPE OF SUPPLY:

    1x KimLift® synthetic round sling KLX-360; MBL 1,800MT and nominal effective working length 12.00 meters.

  • SURF Installation - Lingshui Project (China)

    KimLift® Synthetic Round Slings

    BACKGROUND
    Future Synthetics Pte Ltd designed and manufactured several KimLift®round slings for a SURF project for China Offshore Oil Engineering Co.’s (COOEC) Lingshui 17-2 gas
    field development project. The location is in the South China Sea, 150 km (93 mi) offshore Sanya, Hainan province. The contractor’s offshore work scope included transportation and installation of five steel catenary risers with diameters ranging from 10 to 18-in. Water depths at the Lingshui 17-2 field range from 1,450-1,560 m (4,757-5,118 ft). All slings were made with Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance.

    SCOPE OF SUPPLY
    2x KimLift® synthetic round slings KLX-164; MBL 820MT and nominal effective working length 2.50 meters.
    3x KimLift® synthetic round slings KLX-205; MBL 1,025MT and nominal effective working length 10.0 meters.
